Push back

12/22/2010

PATH's proposal to toll the PATH case in all three states and blame it on PJM (another doltish strategy decision that will go down in history) is already getting push back.  Today, three separate motions were filed to dismiss the case in lieu of tolling.  See them here, here and here.  All of these motions are well-written and rely on different valid points of law (as well as common sense -- something that PATH seems to be missing).  I have a feeling there will be more.  Lots more.

It's all coming crashing down in flames for PATH now.  They've got so many serious problems with their project they simply can't recover.  End times.  Give up.

Like a giant, disease-filled boil on the posterior of society, PATH is about to be lanced.

Merry Christmas, you greedy b@stards!  Don't say we didn't give you anything :-)

Good article in Frederick News Post.  Another reporter smells the lies and omissions of fact in PATH's press release!  And another PATH PR flack looks like a monkey...

Toll the case along??!!! I had been under the thought that we need PATH, like, NOW. What about Granny and her respirator and all that? (sniff, I love Granny) And instead of sitting here typing on my state of the art computer, I might actually have to go back to the big slow Radio Shack computer I took "Data Processing" on way back in ninth grade. Egads- like the antiquities shown in the PATH for progress ads. Nooooo!!!!

Ho Ho Ho! I'd put coal in PATH's stocking this year, except they already have plenty stockpiled, waiting to burn to power Granny's respirator in New Jersey. What a catch-22! Granny wouldn't need that respirator if Allegheny Energy and AEP's coal-burning air pollution wasn't wafting its way northeast and fouling the air she breathes.

Less clean air, more electricity to power respirators! Now that's the power of progress! Ho Ho Ho!

PATH is the power we need to move forward with artificial life support!

Hey Santa, now that's some of the funniest sarcasm I've heard in a long long time. It would be truly funny, however, it's the absolute truth. Their pollutin' ways are on the way out. America is in favor of clean air, clean water, and a clean concions ... to bad the corporate HEADS at these huge filthy power/coal companies are still stuck in the mindset of filthy greed at any cost to their fellow man. Oh well, these time they are a changin' and the ones that refuse to change with them will be stuck in the DARK ages forever.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all the faithful readers of this little slice of TRUTH. Thank You stoppathwv!

I've had a Stop Path sign in my front yard for over 2 years. It surved several winters, high winds, the snowstorms of February, etc. Well yesterday, it came down, blew over and because the ground is frozen, I can't get it back in. Is this a sign, is this an omen that PATH is coming down? To all the wonderful friends I've met in this battle none of us chose to be involved in, may you and yours have the Merriest Christmas and a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. I hope once this is all over and PATH gets defeated, we can all meet somewhere and have a victory party. I do believe in miracles.

I should correct myself and say that we did choose to fight this battle, we were thrown into it because of greed and not because we all had nothing better to do with our lives.

Pam, regardless of whether some of us chose, got dragged into it, or just had no moral choice but to stand up, the point is that not a shred of this has been bought and paid for, coerced, bribed or cheated. Nor is any of it underpinned with anything but admirable and upstanding foundations that anyone who votes in this country would be proud of.

So we will win.

    About the Author

Keryn Newman blogs here at StopPATH WV about energy issues, transmission policy, misguided regulation, our greedy energy companies and their corporate spin.
In 2008, AEP & Allegheny Energy's PATH joint venture used their transmission line routing etch-a-sketch to draw a 765kV line across the street from her house. Oooops! And the rest is history.

    About
    StopPATH Blog

StopPATH Blog began as a forum for information and opinion about the PATH transmission project.  The PATH project was abandoned in 2012, however, this blog was not.

StopPATH Blog continues to bring you energy policy news and opinion from a consumer's point of view.  If it's sometimes snarky and oftentimes irreverent, just remember that the truth isn't pretty.  People come here because they want the truth, instead of the usual dreadful lies this industry continues to tell itself.  If you keep reading, I'll keep writing.
