PATH needs their own personal, engraved invitation

12/28/2010

Remember the Frederick County Planning Commission meeting that PATH ditched?  Well, now they're trying to pretend that they didn't get an invitation to the party and therefore are entitled to another "do over".

Yes, try not to laugh at their poor, disorganized souls... they simply didn't know about the meeting and relish the opportunity to go back before the Planning Commission and beg for forgiveness.  You believe them, don't you?

The Planning Commission has set another hearing for January 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.  Please mark your calendar to attend (yes, PATH, this means YOU!)

Funny that hundreds of citizens showed up for that "secret" meeting.  It was the best kept secret in Frederick County, apparently.  PATH should quit embarrassing themselves this way.  It's positively EERIE!

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing that little smirk Chairman White wears so well again.  See you there!  :-)

Hahahahaha! Their poor little feelings got hurt - or they don't like all the barbs sent their way here and elsewhere.

I find it interesting that the planning commission letter was cc'd to someone at the Maryland PSC; I wonder if PATH went crying to them about it?

One of my friends is trying to dig up PATH's whiny letter to post. I'm sure there's some real gems in there for us to play with :-)

I like the list of why the Planning Commission turned the line down. Kind of goes hand in hand with the testimony I highlighted in the "Arrogance and Contempt" post.

So, I guess they think if they were present things would have turned out differently because they would have told their own version of "the truth"? Hahahahahahahaaaaaa! I hope it's over in time for happy hour at Brewer's Alley....

ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME??? I don't live in Frederick County or even in Maryland for that matter. I, along with a few hundred folks new about and ATTENDED these meetings. I tend to think PATH is finding their sheer arrogance/ingnorance is biting them in the A$$ at every turn. The people as well as the commision as well as the BZA of Frederick County Maryland have made it very clear PATH is not welcome, needed or in any way desired in their county. Another "do-over" will go nowhere further.

You know, even pro football players have to admit defeat and move on to opening used car lots at some point in their careers. Hey Randy, what do you know about a 1976 Chrysler Labaron? Oh the irony is far too ammusing. High priced lawyer working for corporate power or used car salesman ... really not much difference, is there?

Keryn, you just brought up a very important aspect of a "do-over" in Frederick ... Black Frost Barley wine Ale at Brewers Ally. If it wern't for the entertainment I recieve from makin the trek to Frederick every time PATH whines a little I don't know what I'd do. ANOTHER DO OVER ... BWAHARHARHARHAR!

Maybe you can buy them a growler afterward? Do they make a "Whiny, Eerie, Do-Over Ale"? I don't think I saw that one on the board.

Just when I think there is no lower place for these people to stoop, that they have reached the depths of absurdity & assininity (ok, not a word, but it fits here)... What's the saying?- "you couldn't make this stuff up".
My kindergarten-age nephews inform me that these do-overs are way out of the realm of fairness. On a positive note, they are pretty good for making PATH look even sillier, inept and corrupt.

Hillbilly- love the analogy!!

Talk about grasping at straws. The ship is sinking fast and they are trying to keep it afloat. I have the misfortune of working with a person who constantly whines about everything. I thought my co-worker was the worst whiner in the world but these guys take the cake.

My favorite part....the purpose of the new date is to provide PATH the 'opportunity' "to make a brief presentation and answer any questions the Commission and public speakers may have." I rather think that PATH is paying the price of getting what they asked for. Do you think the public speakers may ask some questions? Truly a Solomonic decision on the part of the FC Planning Commission to put PATH back out on the tar and feather catwalk...in case they haven't had enough. (and also wise to begin at 1:00 pm...just in case it runs a little long... y'all know how meticulous Frederick County is about making sure everyone is heard)

I have become rather fond of standing outside after these meetings in Frederick and watching "the walk of shame" these guys must make. Todd Meyers was so PATHetic at the last one. Walked out with his head hung low and his hand coverring his dejected look. Reminded me of a poor lil sorority chick leaving a frat house with a huge hangover and very low self esteem. Hey Todd, you got "daddy issues" too? I would like to feel sorry for these folks that their employer puts them through this kind of humilliation ... BUT I DON'T! We all CHOOSE our destiny. After this "do over" ... "MAN UP" guys, walk out with you heads held high and admit your defeat! Then you can take your ball and go home. Remember, we didn't WANT to play your STOOOOOOPID game in the first place!

Justme,
Be sure to ask them why they are even pursuing the substation when Dominion's Alternative 1 shows that there is no need for any new construction, wither of a new transmission line or a new substation.

Too bad mere ineptitude is not the basis for legal malpractice. PATH could sue their counsel and reimburse the ratepayers.

Well, a lightbulb went on for me this afternoon.

They're not just inept, instead they're using ineptitude as cover for the criminal-type things they are really doing. You know, for when they get caught, they can pretend it was all a "mistake".

Geez, PATH, quit peeing on our shoes and telling us it's raining!!!!! It's getting old.

Unfortunately, they're also inept at pretending to be inept. The truth is right there.

Ut-oh!

C'mon nobody can be THAT stupid. Even PATH.

StopPATH Blog began as a forum for information and opinion about the PATH transmission project.  The PATH project was abandoned in 2012, however, this blog was not.

StopPATH Blog continues to bring you energy policy news and opinion from a consumer's point of view.  If it's sometimes snarky and oftentimes irreverent, just remember that the truth isn't pretty.  People come here because they want the truth, instead of the usual dreadful lies this industry continues to tell itself.  If you keep reading, I'll keep writing.
