PATH is scared of Frederick County, Maryland

1/11/2011

After complaining that no one invited them to the party, PATH has now decided that they don't want to party with Frederick County afterall.  The previously scheduled PATH transmission line Planning Commission hearing on January 19 has been canceled.

Today's news is that PATH has requested their placement on the Planning Commission's Agenda be "postponed" until some unknown future date.

I suspected that they weren't really looking forward to being questioned, laughed at and disparaged by the citizens of Frederick County again, but you'd think they could at least be man enough to admit that they don't really want a "do-over" afterall.  Leave it to PATH to run away screaming like a little girl with a bee in her knickers.  Eerie!

What a bunch of clowns!

If I was writing a fiction story and wanted to make these guys look like idiots, I couldn't do as good a job as they do themselves.

This is priceless.

And PATHetic.

If you go back and look at the background correspondence, you'll see that they started whining about this back in November, right after they missed the meeting. Between then and when the County finally scheduled their "re-do", lots of stuff went down with the BZA hearings. While acting all outraged back in November seemed like a good plan, the reality of now says that this is just another opportunity for the citizens to have fun at their expense. Why would PATH bother at this point... unless they're into that punishment stuff.

While all that's understood, why is honesty such a foreign concept to them? Why not just admit that now they don't want to do it after all? The citizens of Frederick Co. should insist that the Planning Commission dismiss PATH's request if PATH is not going to follow through. The thought has crossed a few minds that PATH is up to no good here. Unfortunately for PATH, the citizens have already thought 10 steps ahead of them.

PATH -- where idiocy is more than just another word to re-define, it's a lifestyle!

Our lil sorority gal Todd would only wind up doing the "walk of shame" yet again anyway. I think this is one more way (IN THEIR PATHeticly twisted mind only) of them maintaining "control" of the situation. The reality is, the citizens have total control of this and they know, but won't admit, it. I love the humor factor in all of this PATHetic game they continue to play ... if only it wasn't so damned expensive to all of us ratepayers. However, that's changing too. I know of another friend who is now COMPLETELY OFF the Allegheny grid as of yesterday! Way to go PATH, the customers of your cartel (PJM) are finding alternative ways to phase you out!

While this is good news, I smell a rat. They've got to be up to no good, we've played games with them the past 3 years and they have never played fair and fortunately it has usually backfired on them except in WV where they seem to always get what they want. I know this is going to get tied up in Court about who has jurisdiction over this, the County or the MD PSC. I like the fact that for now, they are running away with their tails between their legs but I still can't trust them as far as I can throw them.

Gosh, Hill, you're really liking yourself some Todd as a sorority girl, eh? The image is getting more real all the time. Good thing we chased him away from Brewer's Alley or I'd be worried what might happen if the two of you had a few too many growlers.... ;-)

Ease up keryn, I just can't get the image of him shamefully leaving with his head hung low out of my mind. It's just too funny. Lack of esteem comes with the territory of shameful acts!

Deliverance - 2011

Hilarity ensues in this remake of the 1972 classic set in present day West Virginia. This saga follows the story of a group of city boys who are tasked with taking land away from property owners whose roots run deep in order to site an unneeded high voltage transmission line. There's plenty of hijinks around every corner as the city boys are indoctrinated into the ways of the wild. That guy on the state flag with the rifle isn't just symbolism and this ain't no Duquesne Club! Coming soon to a theater near you...

    StopPATH Blog

StopPATH Blog began as a forum for information and opinion about the PATH transmission project.  The PATH project was abandoned in 2012, however, this blog was not.

StopPATH Blog continues to bring you energy policy news and opinion from a consumer's point of view.  If it's sometimes snarky and oftentimes irreverent, just remember that the truth isn't pretty.  People come here because they want the truth, instead of the usual dreadful lies this industry continues to tell itself.  If you keep reading, I'll keep writing.
