Formal Challenge filed on PATH's 2010 Formula Rate Annual Update

This morning, Ali Haverty and I filed with FERC a Formal Challenge to Potomac-Appalachian Transmission Highline, LLC 2010 Formula Rate Annual Update, with a copy served on PATH's Counsel. PATH now has 20 days to respond to the Challenge.

Just a warning: It's a large file -- begin downloading and then go do something else -- like file your tax return, and come back later. But don't give up on the link, it works. You didn't expect a nearly $4 million dollar campaign of imprudent and improperly recovered expenses, advocacy-building and influence buying to come on the back of a gum wrapper, did you?

Have fun reading, everyone. I'm going to go catch up on all those things I've neglected for the past two weeks while I've been working on this, like eating and sleeping.

Note to Randy and Phil: Since we can all stop pretending that you're not reading this now, I'd just like to mention that you completely misinterpreted the meaning of my comment that you submitted to the WV-PSC the other day. This Challenge is what I meant when I said, "this program of influence buying with ratepayer money". Got it now? I'll expect an apology and correction to be filed next week. Have a nice weekend! :-)

The moment I've been waiting for is finally here. If there was ever any doubt that PATH has been scamming MY money, here is the PROOF. I would hate to be one of your minions today Randy. You all had your chance to work with the ratepayers and provide the requested info. This didn't have to go this way. You have been exposed and now it's time to watch and see how you flounder from this one. I doubt crying to the PSC about how a couple of ladies in West Virginia are picking on you will carry much weight with F.E.R.C.! BTW this is an open forum and ANYONE is allowed to comment, so please don't cry about how you've been mistreated... IT'S A BLOG! Randy, at the NPS meeting in Harpers Ferry, you asked me point blank, "when are you all going to give up?" Is there any doubt at all that we will never give up until the right thing is done? And PATH goes away? And you all stop scamming your ratepayers? One more question ... for now ... How much are you being paid of MY money to sit and read this little website Randy, Todd, etc ...? Shouldn't you be focusing on getting your act together. In the end, we all answer for our actions.

Oh PATH, just when you've finished licking your wounds from the humiliation in Frederick County MD...just when you dodged the bullet of a repeat performance back before the Planning Commission (shouldn't play Chicken guys)...just when when you thought its FINALLY OVER...just when you procedurally got ordinary citizens and their march of malcontent done and over with...(SIGH)....The nightmare begins again.

Hey Ginny, I agree that these two have put in HUGE amounts of time and effort. They have done a TREMENDOUS job that "ordinary" citizens would never take on. (PATH was banking on that) However, we are not dealing with "ordinary" citizens here. These two are dilligent, tenatious women that obviously WILL NOT BE BEATEN. They know they are absolutely right and that's all it takes for folks like them. PATH never thought they would be dealing with so many people who truly care about the right thing. The folks in all three states have done an incredible job and all should feel very proud! Kudos to Ms. newman and Ms. Haverty as well as to all who fight every day! PATH has ALREADY lost this STOOOOPID game on so many levels and thanks to folks like Keryn and Allison and many many others they will continue losing until they eventually whither and go away. GIVE UP PATH AND STOP WASTING MY TIME AND MY MONEY!

Anyone who thinks accounting is a dry, boring subject is mistaken. Accounting -- money -- tells a story. This challenge is PATH's story, as told by the money they spent. YOUR money! Although it relies on figures, the story is translated into words, so it should be easy reading. It tells the story of PATH's campaign of influence buying through propaganda. Millions of dollars spent for a project that they continually tell us is "needed". If it is so badly needed, why the necessity for this campaign? It should speak for itself if it is truly needed. Perhaps it's not really needed at all, thus requiring all this bolstering through the campaign.

While Ali & I may have written PATH's story, a reading of it will show that every citizen opponent of PATH contributed to the big picture. It is through the efforts of ALL of us that this was possible, so thanks to all of you!

I read this document and was totally amazed! This will certainly get MUCH attention and really shows how PATH is out of control! Thank-you very much for the unbelieveable work Keryn and Ali!

THANK YOU, ladies! Awesome job! I am glad I'm on your side. :) Pardon, PATH, if I'm not upset at your weekend(at the very least...) being ruined with this news--as you have ruined many days, evenings, weekends, months, years in some cases of the citizens who were doing nothing more than going along living their lives before you came along.
Anyone out there along the PATH corridor and/or the Mount Airy/Monrovia, MD substation site who still continues to think that "the average Joe" has no chance at all at stopping big business from getting their way (luckily not very many!), how much more proof do ya need? Thanks to these two for this massive amount of work on 'following the funds'; thanks to all those in 3 states who have taken an interest in all the various PSC/SCC proceedings; and thank those in Frederick County, MD during the continuing never-ending marathon who made their voices/facts heard. I heard a quote once that aptly applies here- 'the world is run by those that show up'. Remember that, PATH.
